A visit without a profile
The Great Sugar Trail does not ask you to register. Choosing islands for an itinerary, adjusting the Jelly Lab sliders or ticking an observation creates no visitor profile. Those values belong to the open page and disappear on a reload.
All illustrations, fonts and scripts are served with the website. Its code contains no analytics service, advertising pixel or social-media embed. The hosting server may keep ordinary request and error logs; a specific retention period for those logs has not been confirmed here.
Remembering display comfort
You decide whether the browser should remember the reduced-motion setting. The footer’s display dialog has a separate, optional remember checkbox. Leaving it off lets you change the current page without storing that choice for a later visit.
If you previously enabled remembering, untick it and apply the new choice to remove the two optional local-storage entries. Their names and behaviour are listed on the browser storage page.
When you leave feedback
A submitted contact message contains the name, reply email, topic and text you entered. The form also requires acknowledgement of this notice. Once the local handler accepts the message, it adds a reference and timestamp to the site’s inbox on the hosting server.
The handler has no automatic email-forwarding integration. To limit repeated submissions, it records a hash derived from the connection address and a site-specific value. The inbox does not record the plain connection address, although separate hosting logs may do so.
Enquiry details are intended for reviewing the issue and any possible follow-up. Please leave out card numbers, passwords, identity documents and sensitive information about yourself or anybody else.
How long messages remain
Successful submissions trigger an inbox cleanup that removes entries older than 30 days. If no further message is successfully submitted, that cleanup does not run, so an older record may remain pending maintenance. The handler refuses to grow the retained inbox beyond 500 messages.
This describes the implemented cleanup process, rather than guaranteeing deletion at a precise deadline. To ask for a correction or removal, choose Privacy request on the contact form and include the reference of the relevant message. The request may need to be verified before it can be acted on.
Security and your own copy
A random token and a matching session cookie help protect the form against submissions from another site. Field checks, a rate limit and a protected inbox file provide further safeguards. These controls do not amount to an absolute security guarantee.
Save draft copy creates a text download on your device. It is useful when the service is unavailable, but it does not deliver the message. You control that downloaded copy through your own files and browser.
The site does not state an unverified business address, operator identity or legal certification. This notice is limited to the features described above. Use contact and feedback for a question about this notice.
